Local Funding

European Social Fund (ESF) Objective 3
Learning and Skills Council for Greater Merseyside
The Learning and Skills Council for Greater Merseyside provides funding under its European Social Fund (ESF) Objective 3 Co-financing plan. The European Social Fund is a European Funding stream to develop human resources and is managed locally through organisations such as the Learning and Skills Councils (LSCs).

ESF Objective three focuses on five main ‘policy fields':

• Active labour market policies
• Equal opportunities for all and promoting social inclusion
• Lifelong learning
• Adaptability and entrepreneurship
• Improving the role of women in the labour market

Under the co-financing arrangements organisations applying for funding to the LSC will receive 100% funding and there is no requirement on the applicants to provide match funding.
Eligible organisations include small and medium sized businesses as well as voluntary and community based organisations.
Applications are invited through announced tendering rounds.
Funding under ESF Objective 3 is primarily for revenue costs. Only capital item under £1,000 are eligible.
