Funding Available to Enhance the Cultural Impact of Arts Organisations (England)

Nesta, the innovation agency, has announced changes to its Cultural Impact Development Fund, which offers investment of between £25,000 and £150,000 for arts and culture organisations.  The Cultural Impact Development Fund, which was previously a loan fund, will now include grants up to 10 per cent of the total investment.

The fund seeks to invest in organisations that aim to build sustainable business models, such as by using the investment to:

  • Develop a new income stream
  • Grow an existing strand of work
  • Purchase essential equipment
  • Refurbish a building
  • Pre-fund a fundraising campaign

As part of Nesta's commitment to social impact, the Fund also offers financial offsets in recognition of the achievement of social impact targets. The financial offset takes the form of an annual reduction to the interest rate on the loan portion of an investment where the total repayment period is 3 years or more.

Alongside the investment, the Cultural Impact Development Fund offers a tailored package of guidance and support to each organisation .

Organisations can submit a funding enquiry via the Arts & Culture Finance (link below) or by emailing artsculturefinance@nesta.org.uk
