£4 Million Funding for Councils to Support Families to Resolve Parental Conflict (England)

To support more families to resolve parental conflict, the Department for Work and Pensions’ Reducing Parental Conflict programme will now provide funding to enable councils in England to train frontline staff who regularly come into contact with families experiencing severe relationship difficulties.

£3.87 million in funding has been made available to provide support and intervention aimed at resolving parental conflict, not domestic abuse. This includes tackling the issue of frequent, intense and poorly resolved conflict between parents and how it impacts children’s wellbeing, undertaking innovative projects working with charities and sharing evidence on what works.
