Funding for Community Action to Welcome & Support Refugees (Dorset)

Grants of up to £5,000 are available to local charities, community and voluntary organisations, CICs, and social enterprises offering activities and services to welcome and support refugees of any nationality who are arriving, residing or settling in Dorset.

Schools are not eligible but PTA groups can apply if they meet our eligibility guidelines

This could include services and activities such as:

  • supplying personal or household items including clothing, bedding, mobile phones;
  • community events and social activities;
  • befriending support;
  • advice and advocacy support;
  • mental health services;
  • and childcare.

New groups who have been operating less than twelve months can apply for up to £2,000.

The funding is made available by Dorset Council through the Dorset Welcome Fund.

The next closing date for applications is midday on the 3rd May 2024.

Please note that grants cannot support activities that are supporting residents of Bibby Stockholm in Portland. If proposed activities include participants from Bibby Stockholm please apply instead for funding available from Dorset Council: Community Connection Fund
