Grants to Support a More Sustainable, Equal and Low-Carbon Society (Highlands and Islands of Scotland)

The Pebble Trust offers grants of up to £10,000 to support projects that can help communities to build a more sustainable and equal society. Applications are welcomed from charities, community groups, businesses or individuals for projects that advance environmental protection or improvement, support organisations and individuals developing sustainable lifestyles and take into account future resource availability, fossil fuel use, climate change and the desirability of a more equal society.

Previous grants awarded have gone to:

  • Stramash Renewable Energy Project, a Fort William based outdoor nursery to install renewable energy into a 'castle' that has been built on the site for shelter and as a teaching resource with expertise from volunteer parents.
  • Tagsa Uibhist's 'Reclaiming the Knowledge' intergenerational horticultural project engaging school children to find out from their families, friends and neighbours about how and where food is grown on the Uists and Benbecula.

To apply e-mail the completed application form to info@thepebbletrust.org. Applications can be submitted at any time.
