Lancashire's 'LEADER' Rural Funding Programme Update (North West)

Lancashire's three LEADER programmes have been allocated £4.2 million of rural funding and are now accepting calls for projects focussed on Enterprise, Farming, Rural Services, Culture and Heritage, Forestry and Tourism. Recently funded projects include: Brindle Distillery, Chorley (Lancashire Pennine Moors LEADER area) received 40% funding towards the cost of specialist distilling equipment; Cartford Inn, Eccleston ( Lancashire West LEADER area) 26% of the total eligible costs to create two new accommodation units and Farmyard Ales, Cockerham ( Lancashire North and Bowland LEADER area) received 40% funding towards the cost of a purpose built unit, brew equipment and casks. Small businesses as well as community groups and social enterprises can apply for grants for up to 40% of costs for projects that benefit the rural economy.
