Scottish Government Nature Restoration Fund (Scotland)

The Scottish Government is accepting applications for its £65 million Nature Restoration Fund. The fund supports organisations working to restore wildlife and habitats on land and sea.

The Nature Restoration Fund is part of the Scottish Government's commitment to addressing the twin crises of biodiversity loss and climate change. The fund is designed to support projects that will help to reverse the decline of Scotland's natural environment.

The Fund has two streams, Helping Nature, for grants of £25,000 to £250,000 and Transforming Nature grants of £250,000 upwards, including development phase funding.

Projects that are eligible for funding from the Nature Restoration Fund include:

  • Restoring peatland
  • Replanting forests
  • Creating new wetlands
  • Protecting rivers and streams
  • Reintroducing native species

All applicants need to initially submit an Expression of Interest (EOI).  Applicants that meet the NRF priorities will be sent an application form.  The deadline for submitting an application is the 12th August 2024.
