Grants to Support Serving Soldiers, Veterans & their Families (UK)

Charities and organisations that provide support to soldiers, veterans, and their immediate families will soon be able to apply for funding from ABF the Soldiers’ Charity.

A variety of projects and activities can be funded, including:

  • mental health support
  • educational programmes and employment assistance
  • family support
  • housing assistance
  • independent living
  • elderly care

This might include helping wounded soldiers to adapt to life after service, assisting elderly veterans to keep their independence, or supporting soldiers to embark on new careers.

Up to 100 charities are normally funded each year, with grant amounts varying depending on the project or activity being proposed.

Priority is given to member organisations of the Confederation of Service Charities or Veterans Scotland.

The Grants Committee sits in February, June and November, with an additional Scottish Committee being held in April.

There is no minimum or maximum grant amount indicated.  However, the charity is unlikely to provide grants of above £15,000 to an organisation with which it has had no previous relationship.

The next closing date for applications is on the 12th March 2024.
