Marine conservation charities are invited to apply for funding for projects which help to protect the ocean and enhance marine biodiversity.

The ScottishPower Foundation Marine Biodiversity Fund will finance one multi-year project that:

• contributes to the protection and enhancement of the marine/coastal environment, preventing negative impacts and/or enabling the repair and renewal or the marine/coastal environment, including the safeguarding of marine species, and
• shares project knowledge and raises awareness of threats to the marine/coastal environment by engaging with the local community and wider society

Projects must take place in the UK and its territorial waters.

It is anticipated the successful project will receive funding of £200,000 per year for a period of up to three years.

The fund is now open to applications until the 19th March 2024.

There will be a two-stage application process.
