Funding for Projects Promoting Blood and Organ Donations Amongst Minority Ethnic Communities Deadline Extended (UK)

Community and faith/beliefs organisations across the UK can apply for grants of up to £20,000 to build support for blood and organ donations amongst Black, Asian, mixed heritage and minority ethnic communities.

The NHS Blood and Transplant Community Investment Scheme 2022/23 will support organisations to engage, educate and recruit more donors. In this latest round of funding, the scheme has broadened its scope to cover a range of health inequalities including blood, organ and stem cells to address the shortage of Black blood donors, whose blood is used to treat conditions like sickle cell, the shortage of ethnically matched organs for those waiting for a transplant, as well as the need for ethnically matched stem cell donors.

The deadline for applications has been extended to the 16th January 2022.
