Bidding Re-Opens for £4.8 Billion Levelling Up Fund (UK)

Councils are invited to apply for a share of £4.8 billion in funding for projects that improve everyday life for people across the UK.

The funding will help councils (as well as a range of public and private organisations in Northern Ireland) to invest in infrastructure to support town centres and high street regeneration, local transport projects, and cultural and heritage assets that give people pride in the places where they live.

The funding is being made available by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities through the Levelling Up Fund, which aims to improve standard of living, reduce levels of regional inequality, and provide improved opportunities for everyone.

Eligible organisations include unitary authorities (including metropolitan borough councils), London borough councils and district councils in two tier areas in England.

In addition to local authorities, the UK government will accept bids from a range of local applicants in Northern Ireland, including but not limited to businesses, universities, voluntary and community sector organisations, district councils, the Northern Ireland Executive, and other public sector bodies.

The deadline for applications is midday on the 2nd August 2022.
