New Bursaries to Help Learners to Upskill & Retrain (England)

£2.5 million worth of targeted bursary funding has been made available to help learners to upskill and retrain. The funding will support learners who could struggle with study-related costs such as books and childcare fees, to access over one hundred new higher education ‘short courses’ that will help them gain in-demand skills and open further job opportunities.

Twenty-two universities and colleges in England will be offering the courses in subjects vital for economic growth, including STEM, healthcare and education, from this September as part of a 3-year trial. The bursaries are made available by the Department for Education for the time-limited trial only.

Trials are due to start in September and further details will be made available shortly.
