Competition to Increase Domestic Production of Sustainable Farm-based Protein (England)

UK registered businesses are invited to apply for a share of £12.5 million in funding for collaborative research projects that help increase domestic production of healthy and sustainable farm-based protein.

Projects will benefit England’s farmers, growers or foresters by transforming farming productivity, environmental sustainability and resilience, whilst moving the sector towards net zero.

The funding is made available by the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs, and delivered by Innovate UK through the Farming Futures R&D Fund: Sustainable Farm-based Protein Competition, which will divide funding between:

  • Feasibility Projects costing between £200,000 and £500,000; a
  • Industrial Research Projects costing between £500,000 and £1 million.

The deadline for applications is 11am and 12pm respectively on the 21st September 2022.
