Funding to Make High-Rise Buildings with Cladding Safe (England)

The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities is making £4.5 billion in funding available to owners of high-rise buildings with unsafe cladding in England to meet the costs of making their properties safe.

The Building Safety Fund is open to building owners, landlords, leaseholders, and social housing providers for the remediation of fire risks associated with cladding in high rise buildings that are 18 meters or above, or for other works and mitigation measures that could be identified as a more effective route to making a building safe.

Applications to the Fund will be based on new criteria to make sure any works required are proportionate to the level of risk posed.

The Fund’s closure date has yet to be published.
