Funding to Promote Awareness of Smart Meters to Vulnerable Communities (England, Scotland and Wales)

Grants of up to £25,000 are available to charities and other not-for-profit organisations for projects which help vulnerable people to understand and benefit from smart meters in their homes.  Grants will be awarded to regionally-based organisations, with local networks across England, Scotland and Wales that can reach people facing barriers to using smart meters.

During 2024 funding will be available to organisations that can reach adults who are without essential digital skills, primarily those who are aged 75+

Two funding streams are available depending on the number of people assisted during the project.

  • Grants of between £15,001 and £25,000.
  • Grants of be between £7,500 and £15,000.

The funding is being made available through the Smart Energy GB in Communities Fund and applications must be received by 12 noon on the 9th February 2024.

National Energy Action will host an online session to answer question that applicants may have. The session will take place on Zoom on Tuesday 23 January between 11:30am and 12:30pm. You can join via this link.
