Funding to Help People's Displacement Due to Climate Change (UK)

Grants of up to £60,000 are available for initiatives aimed at enhancing the lives of forcibly displaced groups and their host communities, as well as increasing their resilience to climate change.

The funding is being made available through the JAC Trust, an independent grant-making Trust focusing on climate change and displaced people, and is offering funding to registered charities, social enterprises, and non-profit organisations in the UK and internationally. Proposals that demonstrate strong engagement between displaced individuals and their host communities will be given priority. However, it should be noted that the JAC Trust does not currently fund projects within the UK.

To be eligible for funding, proposals must meet the following criteria:

  • Result in tangible improvements in the quality of life for both displaced individuals and their host communities.
  • Have a positive effect on the environment through protection or restoration.
  • Foster positive interaction between displaced individuals and their host communities.

Applicants must be registered charities or non-profit organisations that have a strong connection to the communities they serve.

There is a two-stage application process.  The deadline for submitting concept notes is 9am on the 8th March 2023.  Applicants successful at this stage will be asked to submit a full proposal by completing the Stage 2 form.
