Ubele Initiative Launches Reclaim Black Heritage Fund to Support Black-Led Projects Commemorating 81 Acts of Rebellion (UK)

The Ubele Initiative has announced the launch of the Reclaim Black Heritage Fund, offering a number of Black-led groups and Black individuals the opportunity to apply for funding to celebrate 81 acts of rebellion against inequity. The fund's priority is to support projects that commemorate these uprisings and benefit the Black community in the specified location.

According to the Ubele Initiative, the Reclaim Black Heritage Fund aims to "commemorate the 81 uprisings that have shaped our history, and to benefit and support the Black community in the stated location." The fund is open to Black-led groups and individuals who are developing projects that align with the 81 Acts Humanifesto.

Successful applicants can receive up to £4,000 in funding to complete their projects by 15th July 2023. The deadline for submitting full applications is on 2nd March 2023, which is also Black People’s Day of Action, at 5pm. Awards will be announced between 10th and 12th April 2023, and applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by 12th April 2023.
