Funding for Circular Economy Projects (UK)

The John Lewis Partnership is making a total of £1 million in funding available for projects that will accelerate the transition to a more circular economy. The idea of a circular economy is to design out waste and get the most value from every stage of a product's life.

UK charities, academia, social enterprises, Community Interest Companies and businesses in the textiles, food, household and technology sectors can apply for grants of between £150,000 to £300,000 for projects that challenge the outdated 'take, make, dispose' model.

This could involve rethinking waste with new products or materials and finding creative ways to shift consumer mindsets or developing new business models and services.

Funding for the Circular Future Fund: The Million Pound Challenge was raised from sales of 10p plastic bags.

The fund will be administered by Hubbub and will close to applications at 11:59pm on the 9th January 2022.
