Grants for UK-Germany Public Health Workshops (UK)

The British Council is making grants of up to £35,000 available for workshops which address public health challenges in the UK and Germany.

The British Council will support workshop events organised between UK and German academic principal investigators, with a focus on policy, impact and public health. Workshops should aim to build or strengthen UK-German networks, create mentoring opportunities for early career researchers, and establish or develop research links, with the potential for longer-term sustainability.

Examples of workshop topics include:

  • Communication and misinformation in traditional and social media;
  • Perceptions of risk, to individuals and communities;
  • Concepts of personal responsibility and community protection;
  • Inequality and impact of protective measures such as movement restrictions;
  • Changed economic landscapes, employment trends and environmental impacts.

This call is part of the British Council’s Going Global Partnerships programme, which supports partnerships between universities, colleges, education policymakers, civil society organisations and industry partners in the UK and around the world.

The closing date for applications is 4pm on the 28th January 2022 to submit their applications.
