Funding to Help Excluded & Disadvantaged Communities Connect with Nature (Wales)

Grants of between £30,000 and £100,000 are available to not for profit organisation to encourage people from marginalised and disadvantaged communities across Wales to get in touch with nature.

£400,000 in funding is available through the Local Places for Nature: Breaking Barriers programme to support communities including black and minority ethnic, refugee, Gypsy, Roma and Traveller groups, and those experiencing poverty, unemployment and ill health who live in urban or near urban areas to identify and address barriers to participation in nature activities.

Funding can be used to cover revenue costs such as staffing, training and support, community consultation and 'taster' events.

The programme is funded by the Welsh Government and managed by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

The closing date for submitting a project enquiry form is the 31st August 2022.

The closing date for applications is the 28th October 2022.
