Public, private and charitable sector organisations, higher education institutions, research institutes and individuals, can apply for a share of £2 million in funding for projects that increase community participation with nature to help build resilient communities across Wales.
Grants of up to £250,000 are available for projects lasting up to two years.
The funding will help deliver projects that give people opportunities for:
- improved mental and physical health
- learning new skills
- being part of safer communities
- more access to nature
- a better awareness of the impact of climate change
- involvement in making decisions about their natural environment
- participation in citizen science
Projects will need to address one or more of the opportunities or priorities described in the relevant:
- Natural Resources Wales Area Statement
- Public Services Boards' wellbeing plans (futuregenerations.wales)
Natural Resources Wales will share the £2m funding equally across the seven areas of Wales described in our Area Statements: £1m in 2022/23 and £1m in 2023/24.
The funding is being made available through the Natural Resources Wales Resilient Communities Grant which closes to applications at 12pm on the 19th September 2022.
