Funding Available for Projects that Improve Road Safety (UK)

UK-based organisations, both public and professional associations, registered charities and university departments are invited to submit applications for innovative projects which focus on how technology can be used to reduce road offending and improve road safety.

Grants of between £25,000 and £200,000 are available for up to three years from the Road Safety Trust’s Major themed grants programme for projects which aim to protect vulnerable road users. Projects might include evidence reviews, trials, roll-outs, evaluations and support for the profession through guidance or other resources.

Projects already funded include research into vehicle design, traffic calming measures, cycling injuries, brake light design, and police pursuit management.

The deadline for applications is the 19th April 2021.

The Trust also runs a small grants programme.  This is currently closed and due to re-open in Summer 2021.
