Grants of up to £10,000 Available to Help Sports Clubs and Organisations Operate in a Coronavirus Safe Way (England)

In response to the new Covid-19 lockdown measures, Sport England are making grants of £300 to £10,000 available from a total pot of £15 million, to help sport and activity groups, clubs and organisations respond to the immediate challenges of returning to play in a coronavirus-safe way.

Priority will be given to projects:

  • Located in areas of high deprivation (decile 1-3 of the Indices of Deprivation)
  • Organisations working with Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, people on lower incomes, disabled people, people with long-term health conditions and people experiencing a greater burden of care because of coronavirus.
  • Organisations that don't have a significant level of reserve funding available to utilise.

The funding which is being made available through the Return to Play: Small Grants Fund and can cover costs such as minor amendments to facilities, additional sports equipment, signage, sanitation and training courses for clubs in areas of high deprivation, the Fund will now also support ongoing running costs, for example rent, utilities and insurance, and will give flexibility over the start date for resuming activity.

Sports clubs, charities, community clubs, and other not-for-profit organisations can apply at any time until the end of 2021.
