Funding to Install Energy Saving Upgrades & Low Carbon Heating in Low-Income Households (England)

Local authorities and Local Energy Hubs can apply for a share of £350 million in funding to help them install energy saving upgrades and low carbon heating in low-income households in England.

The Sustainable Warmth Competition will award funding to upgrade the worst insulated owner occupier and private rented homes via two existing schemes:

  • the Local Authority Delivery scheme (Phase 3) will upgrade low-income households heated by mains gas;
  • the Home Upgrade Grant (Phase 1) will upgrade low-income households with homes off-gas grid.

The schemes will fully fund measures for householders, however landlords must contribute at least one third of the costs.

The deadline for applications is 11:59pm on the 4th August 2021.

The application form is available on the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy website (link below)
