Safety of Women at Night Fund Opens to Applications (England & Wales)

£5 million in funding has been made available by the Home Office for interventions that focus on the prevention of violence against women and girls (VAWG) in public spaces at night.

Charities, community and voluntary organisations, social enterprises, cooperatives, Local Authorities, Police and Crime Commissioners, and the Chief Constable of the British Transport Police can bid for up to £300,000 in funding through the Safety of Women at Night Fund.

The Safety of Women at Night Fund will support initiatives focused on preventing violence against women and girls in public spaces at night, including:

  • in the night-time economy (economic activity taking place in the evening and night time)
  • in venues
  • on related routes home

Initiatives should aim to protect those at risk and/or identify and target potential perpetrators of VAWG. Partnership bidding is encouraged.

The deadline for applications is 11:59pm on the 1st September 2021.
