Funding to Support Food Security Projects (East Sussex, excluding Brighton & Hove)

The Sussex Community Foundation are accepting applications from community and voluntary sector organisations that support people who are struggling to afford to eat.

The ESCC Food Security Fund will support initiatives in East Sussex (excluding Brighton & Hove) which tackle food security and reduce reliance on foodbanks. Funding could be used for activities that support:

  • community allotments and food growing;
  • food pantries, community fridges and community food cooperatives;
  • improve food preparation and cooking skills;
  • give advice and guidance on healthy eating and nutrition;
  • provide equipment for food preparation and access to food shopping, including transport and computer literacy.

Applications which support those disproportionately impacted such as Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, people with disabilities and others most impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic are encouraged.

Applications can be made at any time.
