National and international start-up companies working on ideas affecting global energy transition and climate change are invited to apply to the Start Up Energy Transition Awards 2022.

The aim of the competition is to recognise global start-up companies that have developed innovative products and/or services that contribute to energy system transformation. Applicants can apply to one of five categories, all with the aim of clean energy promotion:

• clean energy generation
• demand-side innovation
• energy distribution and storage
• smart mobility & transportation
• quality energy access & SDG-7

The winner of each category will receive a prize of up to €10,000.

The competition is run by the German Energy Agency, in partnership with the World Energy Council and the deadline for applications is the 31st January 2022.
