£10 Million in Funding for Skills & Training in the Seafood Industry (UK)

£10 million in funding is being made available to attract new recruits and improve workforce retention in the UK seafood industry, including the catching, processing and aquaculture sectors.

The funding will be used to improve employment opportunities in coastal communities by investing in new training courses to address skills and training gaps, and improving existing courses to increase take-up, completion and workforce retention.

The funding is being made available by the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs through the UK Seafood Fund: Skills and Training Scheme, which opens for bids in summer 2022.

Details of how to apply will be made available shortly and successful bids will be notified in autumn 2022.
