Research Starter Funding to Boost the Future of Farming (England)

The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs, in partnership with UK Research & Innovation, has launched round 2 of the Farming Innovation Programme.

The programme supports collaborative research and development projects that enable England’s agricultural and horticultural sectors to be more environmentally sustainable and resilient, whilst moving the sectors towards net zero.

This latest round invites farmers, growers or foresters to apply for a share of £1 million in funding to develop early-stage ideas that tackle an issue affecting their business.

Proposals should benefit either livestock, plants, novel food production systems, or bioeconomy and agroforestry.

The deadline for expressions of interest is the 6th July 2022.
