The Norfolk Community Foundation exists to benefit disadvantaged communities by making grants to support relevant charitable or voluntary organisations, which make a difference to their local communities. Through the Dudgeon Community STEM in Schools Fund the foundation provides grants of up to £10,000 to inspire pupils and students in primary/secondary schools and colleges (up to and including year 13) to study Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects, so that those pupils are more likely to continue education or employment within the STEM areas.

The UK Space Agency helps to deliver the National Space Strategy. The aim of the Space for All Programme is to unlock growth in the UK space sector include nurturing talent and inspiring the next generation into Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) careers. The Rothschild Foundation Hanadiv Europe aims to ensure that Jewish culture and heritage are actively supported, valued and looked after for generations to come. Through the Academic Jewish Studies Sustainability and Enhancement Grant programme the foundation provides grants of up to £150,000 per year for up to four years to reinforce the current strengths of European Jewish Studies by directing funding toward departments that concentrate their research and teaching on subject areas and approaches that distinguish Jewish Studies in Europe from Jewish Studies elsewhere.

Through the Student Grants Programme The Leathersellers Company provides grants of up to £5,000 per year to support disadvantaged undergraduate students whose circumstances may otherwise prevent them achieving their goals. These grants aim to improve social mobility, relieve financial need where other support is not available and enable students to have a positive impact on society in the future.

The Institute of Physics (IOP) is a leading scientific society and charitable organisation, their aim is to advance physics education, research and application by providing positive and compelling experiences of physics to public audiences through engaging and entertaining activities and events. Through the CR Barber Trust programme the IOP provides grants to PHD students who want to attend an overseas conference. Applicants can use the grant for any part of conference attendance including: travel; registration fees; accommodation.

The Turing Scheme is a new UK Government programme which will enable UK students to study and work abroad. Higher education providers registered in the UK can now apply for funding towards delivering placements and exchanges for the 2021-22 academic year. This will include funding to help cover travel expenses and costs of living, and administrative funding for delivering the projects. Current students can take part in a study or traineeship placement and those who have graduated within the last 12 months can carry out a traineeship abroad. Placements can last four weeks to 12 months. Funding will vary depending on the type of placement and the country visited. The deadline for applications is 4pm on the 21st April 2021.

The Rothschild Foundation Hanadiv Europe aims to ensure that Jewish culture and heritage are actively supported, valued and looked after for generations to come. Through the Skills, Knowledge and Tools for Jewish Education programme the foundation provides grants of between £15,000 and £40,000 per year to support Jewish community organisations to devise and implement high quality professional development training for their staff and volunteers. As a result, participants will develop stronger Jewish fluency expressed in more educational programming with quality Jewish content reflected in an increased usage of Jewish materials and vocabulary in their activities.

The Rothschild Foundation Hanadiv Europe aims to ensure that Jewish culture and heritage are actively supported, valued and looked after for generations to come. Through the Archives and Libraries Professional Training Programme the foundation provides grants for the training of staff at all levels, including archivists, librarians, conservators, photographers, etc. This may include consultation visits by archival or library experts to European Jewish institutions, as well as learning trips by archival or library staff members seeking to visit experts based at other European institutions. This may also cover visits by professionals to help seek strategic advice for the future of their archive or library.

Through the T Levels Capital Fund, the Department aims to help eligible providers to have world class facilities for the delivery of T levels. There are two elements to the fund: Specialist equipment allocation (SEA) and Competitive buildings and facilities improvement grant (BFIG).

As the UK’s national academy for engineering and technology, the Royal Academy of Engineering brings together the most talented and successful engineers to advance and promote excellence in engineering for the benefit of society. Through the Ingenious funding programme the Academy provides funding of between £3,000 and £30,000 to projects that engage the public with engineers and engineering while providing engineers with skills and opportunities in public engagement.

The Foundations focus is technical education. The Foundation takes a proactive approach to the work they wish to support and so the vast majority of unsolicited proposals received are unsuccessful. The Foundation are however willing to consider exceptional proposals which fit closely with their specific aims and focus areas of the Secondary and Further Education sectors.

The Ogden Trust are a charitable trust that exists to promote the teaching and learning of physics. The Trust do this by enabling innovative physics teaching to take place in, and collaboratively between, schools, often forging links to universities. Through the Early Career Teacher Development programme, the trust supports physics teachers who are between their second and fifth year of teaching post qualifying. The programme is designed to support early career teachers in their subject knowledge and pedagogical development following their formal teacher training.

Through the Starter Grants for Clinical Lecturers programme the Trust provides small grants to enable clinical lecturers to pursue their research work, gather preliminary data and strengthen their applications for longer-term fellowships and funding.

The Wolfson Foundation awards grants to support and promote excellence in education, science & medicine, the arts & humanities and health & disability. Through its Funding for Secondary Schools and Sixth Form Colleges funding stream the Foundation aims to support high-achieving state-funded secondary schools and sixth form colleges to improve the teaching of science, computer science, design and technology, art, languages, music and performing arts at GCSE and A-Level. Grants are generally awarded towards new builds, refurbishment and technical equipment.

The University Liaison Grants scheme is available to give university student mathematical societies funding of up to £400 for activities to enhance their programmes for their members and to promote mathematics. The types of activities that can be funded include mathematical activities such as: putting on talks, attending conferences or places of mathematical interest; support for students to attend the tomorrow’s mathematicians today conference; careers activities; networking activities, quizzes and promotional activities.

The Strategic College Improvement Fund (SCIF) provides grants to colleges that need to improve the quality of their provision of education and training. The SCIF is part of a broader strategy to ensure that England’s further education (colleges help learners develop the knowledge and skills that drive individual success, social mobility and economic prosperity. It’s intended that the SCIF will support colleges to deliver better outcomes for learners, employers and local communities. It will enable colleges to access resources that they need to improve their provision for students, including the best practice of other colleges, while at the same time mobilising and strengthening improvement in the FE sector.

The Sutton Trust Summer School Programme is delivered in partnership with the US-UK Fulbright Commission and gives bright, state school students a taste of life at an American University. Applications are open to Students in Year 12 or equivalent who have an interest in US culture and higher education. The programme is centred on a one-week summer school in the US with introductory events and application support in the UK before and after. The programme provides participants with a wide range of activities to help them make the right decisions about American higher education and covers all programme costs, including residential events, accommodation and travel.

The Degree Apprenticeships Development Fund (DADF) provides funding to support new degree apprenticeships by: Creating new higher-quality apprenticeships; establishing capacity and expertise to deliver them and making broader educational opportunities available to learners. This funding is available for the development of degree apprenticeships courses only.

The Royal Institution and the Clothworkers' Foundation are offering UK schools grants of up to £800 to host a show, talk, workshop, challenge or other maths activity to supplement their students' classroom activities. Grants of up to £800 are being offered to eligible state-funded schools, academies and FE colleges to take part in an Enrichment and Enhancement maths activity from the STEM Directories. This is an exciting opportunity for students to take part in a mathematics activity and help integrate mathematics enrichment in school practice.

The Rank Foundation is a grant-giving charitable trust which supports causes in the UK. The School Leadership Award is one of the foundation's earliest structured programmes, through this scheme the foundation offers financial support to a small number of pupils in the Sixth forms of selected schools who are thought to have outstanding leadership potential and who need financial support to complete their education. This financial help comes in the form of assistance with school fees in independent schools or university tuition fees if in maintained schools. Those who receive an award must spend two weeks working for a not-for profit organisation and are also invited to attend a Leadership day in London.

The Gilchrist Educational Trust is a grant giving organisation that runs the following grant programmes: Grants to Individuals - are available for students who have made proper provision to fund a degree or higher education course but find themselves facing unexpected financial difficulties; they are also available to students who are required as part of their course to spend a short time studying abroad. Grants to Organisations - are available to British organisations for projects that fill educational gaps or make particular aspects of education or learning more widely available. Grants to expeditions - supports a number of small or medium sized British expeditions to carry out research of a scientific nature in another country. Fieldwork Award of £15,000 - is a biennial award offered every even numbered year for the best overseas research proposal.

The Commercial Education Trust (CET) is an independent grant making charity which has to date made grants totalling more than £2.5 million in support of charitable projects promoting commercial education. The CET has a vision of a society in which people have the knowhow, skills and opportunity to succeed in work, thereby creating a thriving UK economy. Its aims are to work with charities and organisations to: embed in education at every level the means by which people can apply their learning to work; Equip people with the skills and commercial awareness to grow, develop and lead in business; Encourage individuals to be enterprising and innovative in their approach to business; Make a positive contribution to the development of effective commercial education and training.

The Leverhulme Trust International Acacemic fellowship enables established researchers based at UK educational institutions the opportunity to spend a period of time in overseas research centres to develop new knowledge, skills and ideas.  The Fellowship may be used to: Observe and learn ground breaking techniques or practices; develop new lines of research through overseas collaboration; make 'discipline hopping excursions' into new areas of research; develop innovations in teaching; exchange ideas.  Fellowships to a maximum of £50,000 may be awarded to cover travel to and from the overseas country, as a maintenance grant to meet the increased cost of living overseas and to cover essential research costs.

The Leverhulme Trust's Early Career Fellowships aim to provide career development opportunities for those at a relatively early career stage but who have a proven track record of research.  It is expected that Fellows will undertake a significant piece of publishable work and that the Fellowship will lead to a permanent academic position. The Leverhulme Trust will contribute 50% of the Fellow’s total salary costs (including National Insurance, superannuation and London allowance, where applicable) up to a maximum of £26,000 in each year of the award, and the balance is to be contributed by the host university. The Trust’s contribution in subsequent years will normally increase in line with pay awards and normal increments up to the annual maximum of £26,000. The Trust’s maximum annual contribution will be pro-rated if the Fellowship is held on a part-time basis. The Fellow may request up to £6,000 per annum in research expenses to further his or her research activities...

The Society for the Promotion of Hellenic Studies was founded to advance the study of Greek language, literature, history, art and archaeology in the Ancient, Byzantine and Modern periods. The Society aims to help those engaged in Hellenic Studies at all levels, and to this end it makes grants of various kinds to schools, universities and other institutions, undergraduates, graduate students and young researchers. The Society also manages the Dover Fund, whose purposes are to further the study of the history of the Greek language in any period from the Bronze Age to the 15th century AD, and to further the edition and exegesis of Greek texts, including papyri and inscriptions, from any period within those same limits. For schools, funding goes towards the development of new courses in Greek books & other teaching materials Classics days or conferences Greek plays by schools summer schools.

The Nuffield Foundation is a charitable trust whose aim is to improve social wellbeing by funding research and innovation in education and social policy and building research capacity in science and social science. Nuffield Research Placements (previously Nuffield Science Bursaries) provide over 1,000 students each year with the opportunity to work alongside professional scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians. Students in the first year of a post-16 science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) course are eligible to apply. Placements are available across the UK, in universities, commercial companies, voluntary organisations and research institutions.

The Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers) is the UK's learned society and professional body for geography; they are a world leader in advancing geography and supporting its practitioners in the UK and across the world. The Ray Y. Gildea Jr Award is the Royal Geographical Society's first endowed award to support innovation in teaching and learning in both higher and secondary education. Applications can be made for projects to research, develop and/or pilot innovations in teaching and learning in any field of geography in higher or secondary education. Grants of up to £1,000 will be awarded annually.

The Steel Charitable Trust is a grant-making trust supporting general charitable purposes. The trustees make grants where they believe that their contribution will make a real difference, grants are made to registered charities in the UK within the areas of; arts and culture; environment; health; education; disadvantaged. Grants are made at regular intervals during the year and the total level of grants is approximately £1,000,000, 30% of these grants will be made to organisations in the Luton and Bedfordshire area. Grants are generally made as single payments between £10,000 and £25,000.

The Roman Society is the leading organisation in the United Kingdom for those interested in the study of Rome and the Roman Empire. The Society's Schools Committee makes grants to schools to help promote the teaching of Latin and Roman studies. Most of the grants are awarded for the purchase of textbooks and other books on Roman topics, but the Committee also makes awards to groups and schools organising lectures or study days on Roman themes, and has recently made money available for archaeology fieldwork bursaries. Applications from schools planning to start courses in Latin are particularly welcome.  Grants usually range from £50 to £600.

The Lloyd's Register Educational Trust is an independent charity operating throughout the world. It was established in 2004 by the Lloyd's Register Group. The Trust funds activities in four categories: supporting excellent scientific research; accelerating the application of research; advancing skills and education; and promoting safety and public understanding of risk. The funding amount is discretionary and applications can be submitted at any time.
