Cornwall Community Foundation - Young and Talented Cornwall Creative Writing Award (Cornwall)

The Cornwall Community Foundation was established in 2003. It awards funding to local charities, community and voluntary groups and social enterprise for projects which strengthen and make a real difference to communities in Cornwall. Through the Young and Talented Cornwall Creative Writing Award the foundation aims to support and encourage young writers in Cornwall, between the ages of 16 and 23. The award will be a mix of both mentoring with an established writer based in Cornwall (face-to-face sessions supported by email contact) and a cash award of up to £1,000 together with a reading award of £150 worth of books. The mentoring support is offered for a period of up to a year.

The Victoria Wood Foundation (UK)

The Victoria Wood Foundation was set up after the death of Victoria Wood. It seeks to supports all aspects of the arts across the UK, particularly in and around London and the North of England. Arts organisations and groups are encouraged to apply for funding. The Foundation meets twice a year, in July and December to consider applications. Applications should be received at least two weeks before the following meeting.

NESTA - Arts & Culture Impact Fund (UK)

The Arts & Culture Impact Fund brings together public, private and charitable funding to provide affordable repayable finance to the UK’s arts, culture and heritage organisations able to demonstrate measurable positive social impact. The funding could be used, among other things, to acquire new assets, improve built infrastructure, develop new ventures or scale up existing revenue streams.

Esmee Fairbairn Foundation - Arts Programme (UK)

The Esmée Fairbairn Foundation aims to improve the quality of life for people and communities throughout the UK. The Foundation does this by funding the charitable work of organisations that are building an inclusive, creative and sustainable society.  Through the Arts programme the Foundation wants to support projects that use the power of culture to bring communities together and give opportunity and visibility to people who may otherwise be marginalised.

Paul Hamlyn Foundation - Teacher Development Fund

The Paul Hamlyn Foundation's Teacher Development Fund (TDF) supports arts-based learning projects that help primary school teachers develop their skills to deliver effective arts education. The fund prioritises professional development projects focused on creating sustained arts engagement, especially for disadvantaged children. Schools and not-for-profit organisations can apply, with a focus on partnerships between teachers and arts practitioners.

Arts Council England - National Lottery Project Grants (England)

Arts Council England champion, develop and invest in artistic and cultural experiences that enrich people’s lives. The National Lottery Project Grants scheme is an open access programme for arts, museums and libraries projects, the fund will support thousands of individual artists, community and cultural organisations and aims to create and sustain quality work and help people across England to engage with arts and culture. Grants of between £1,000 and £100,000 are available to projects lasting up to three years that are focused on the following artforms and disciplines: Music, Theatre, Dance, Visual arts, Literature, Combined arts and Museum practice. The programme supports development by allowing artists, cultural practitioners and organisations to work in new ways and to get their work out to new audiences. Applications must meet the programme’s four criteria: Quality, Public engagement, Finance and Management.

Ernest Hecht Charitable Foundation (England & Wales)

The Foundation’s primary objective is to support the work of UK registered charities by awarding grants that benefit the disadvantaged and promote the advancement of the arts and education.  It awards grants that will make a difference in a particular field, especially for the vulnerable, the young, and the elderly.

Clore Duffield - Poetry and Literature Awards (UK)

The Clore Poetry and Literature Awards fund poetry and literature initiatives for children and young people, under the age of 19, across the UK. Through the programme, schools, FE colleges, community groups, libraries and other arts/cultural organisations can apply for grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 to support participatory learning projects and programmes focused on literature, poetry and creative writing for under 19s. The aim is to provide children and young people with opportunities to experience poetry and literature in exciting and compelling ways, in and out of school.

Fenton Arts Trust Grant (UK)

The Fenton Arts Trust's aim is to give encouragement and financial support to those actively contributing to the creative arts in the U.K. The Trust has the following objectives : To provide grants which will support or reward work or performance by individuals early in their careers, and to provide grants for institutions or organisations which have the same aims. The Fenton Arts Trust Grants are available to support individual works, activities, performances or prizes in the fields of drama, painting, sculpture, ballet, music and poetry. 

Headley Trust Grant (UK)

The Sainsbury Family Charitable Trusts is the operating office of 18 grant-making trusts established by three generations of the Sainsbury family. Each trust works autonomously as an independent legal entity with a separate board of trustees, actively led by an individual member of the family.
The Headley Trust Grant funds many areas such as Arts, heritage and conservation projects in the UK of outstanding creative or architectural importance. They are also keen to help with repair work to cathedrals, restoration of buildings and development projects in sub-Saharan Anglophone Africa, and Ethiopia (This is not an exhaustive list, please see website). The amount of funding is discretionary and applications can be submitted at any time.

Marsh Christian Trust Grant (UK)

The Trust provides grants to registered charities working in the fields of social welfare, literature arts and heritage, environmental and animal welfare, and education and training. Grants range from £300 to £2,000. Eligible organisations must be UK-based registered charities experienced in their field of work in any of the above mentioned areas, charities which have been established for more than one financial year and who can provide a full set of their most recent reports and accounts, or the equivalent of, if their annual income is under £25,000. The nature of our funding is to support established charities and not to provide start-up costs. Applications are considered on the basis of the organisation's financial position, performance against charitable aims and objectives and the ration of voluntary income against fundraising expenses.
