The Asda Foundation aims to transform communities and improve lives by providing independent grants and support to locally relevant community projects throughout the UK. Through the Investing in Spaces and Places Grant the foundation provides grants of between £5,000 and £25,000 towards improving community spaces in local communities across the UK. The group needs to own or lease the land/premises and it must be located within the community that the group is based. There are three options within this grant, groups can apply for one option or a mixture of all three: Building Repairs; Building Improvement/Development; Outdoor Improvement/Development.

The McCarthy Stone Foundation awards one-off grants to grassroots and volunteer-led charities and community organisations, CICs and social enterprises that support the wellbeing of older people, the educational needs of young people and the urban regeneration of communities across the UK. Through the Small Grants Programme, the Foundation provides grants of up to £5,000 for projects that will make a difference to those who need it most in local communities, particularly those recovering from the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Foundation Scotland exists to benefit disadvantaged communities by making grants to support relevant charitable or voluntary organisations, which make a difference to their local communities. Through the Watten Wind Farm Trust the foundation provides grants of up to £10,000 to support charitable activities that: Encourage community activity, promote community spirit, and increase opportunities for socialising; Improve the ability of groups/organisations to meet local priorities; Improve telephone and broadband connections; Provide or improve access to, and enjoyment of, the local environment; Provide or improve opportunities for people to develop as individuals, make connections and improve their life chances; Provide or improve sports and recreational facilities or activities; Encourage economic activity within the Fund area.

Through the Ventient Gordonstown Community Fund (Fyvie & Rothienorman) the foundation provides grants in excess of £250 to support charitable activity that will sustain and develop the life of the community and ensure that the area is an attractive and vibrant place to live, work and visit. It does this by making grants to support the costs of relevant projects, services, and facilities.

Through the Vattenfall Clashindarroch Wind Farm Community Fund  the foundation provides grants to support positive change by investing in a wide range of inspirational, community-led activity in the Fund area that is strategic, positive, creative and helps create a legacy of lasting impact. Through the RWE Rosehall Wind Farm Community Fund (Highlands) the foundation provides grants of up to £25,000 to invest in activities and initiatives that help build a vibrant local economy, support and encourage thriving communities and make the area an attractive place to live, work and visit for people of all ages. 

OWL Scotland Grants specifically support the work of OWL local groups. They provide funding for activities, which achieve the overall objectives of OWL Scotland. Owl Scotland Grants are available to all local OWL groups for administration costs, training courses and networking events. There is also a special grant for development work.

Artists Project Earth (APE) funds projects that tackle the effects of climate change.  Applications are welcomed from organisations working to prevent the causes of climate change; defend communities and ecosystems against the impacts of climate change; and support and build resilience for communities affected by natural disasters.

The Chestnut Fund is an independent charity, making grants available to encourage and enable community groups to carry out conservation activities. Groups must be part of the BTCV Community Network to qualify. The grants fall into two categories: Start-up grants - these are for groups who have no money when they are first set up and are available to groups in their first year of existence. The grant will enable them to begin practical work and will cover administrative expenses, e.g. postage, publicity, hire of meeting rooms, telephone bills and/or the first year of BTCV Community Network Membership plus Insurance fees. The maximum grant will be £150, and Support grants - these are for groups who have no money for tools, equipment and training. The maximum grant will be £350. Preference will be given to resources selected from BTCV sources. This grant is available to all BTCV Community Network groups, regardless of how long they have been members.

Voluntary and community groups, schools, community and town councils and health bodies can apply for grants of between £300 and £20,000 for projects which help improve local communities and the lives of people most in need. Projects must meet at least one of their three aims: bring people together and build strong relationships in and across communities; improve the places and spaces that matter to communities; help more people to reach their potential, by supporting them at the earliest possible stage. Funding is available for activities including: putting on events, activities or performances; buying equipment; running training courses; starting a new group; educational toys and games; volunteer's expenses or professional fees; transport costs and refurbishment.
