Through the Ventient Energy Glenkerie Wind Farm Community Fund the foundation provides grants to support activity which will sustain and develop the life of the community and ensure that the area is an attractive and vibrant place to live, work and visit. Foundation Scotland - Carrick Futures (South Ayrshire)

Foundation Scotland exists to benefit disadvantaged communities by making grants to support relevant charitable or voluntary organisations, which make a difference to their local communities. Through the Carrick Futures fund the foundation provides grants of up to £25,000 to support charitable activities that support the rural regeneration and sustainability of Ballantrae, Colmonell & Lendalfoot, Barr, Barrhill, Pinmore & Pinwherry, Girvan & District and Carrick. Priority will be given to projects that: Improve access to services (in particular public transport); Enable a diverse and sustainable population mix (services for young people and older people, but also activities that help create opportunities for families and working age people to live in the area); Improve equality of opportunity (including tackling poverty and disadvantage).

Foundation Scotland - Carcant Wind Farm Community Fund (Heriot)

Foundation Scotland exists to benefit disadvantaged communities by making grants to support relevant charitable or voluntary organisations, which make a difference to their local communities. Through the Carcant Wind Farm Community Fund the foundation provides grants of up to £10,000 to support charitable activities that: Encourage community activity and promote community spirit in Heriot; Ensure adequate access to services for all Heriot community members; Improve local transport infrastructure; Build the local economy; Build community capacity and cohesion between groups; and/or Develop or maintain community assets. Grants may support a wide range of costs, for example the costs of equipment, staff or sessional workers, consultations, running costs for local groups, maintenance or refurbishment of community facilities, and so on.

Foundation Scotland - Achlachan Wind Farm Community Fund (Highland)

Foundation Scotland exists to benefit disadvantaged communities by making grants to support relevant charitable or voluntary organisations, which make a difference to their local communities.  Through the Achlachan Wind Farm Community Fund the foundation provides grants of up to £10,000 to support community activity and development in the Halkirk & District Community Council area, with priority given to projects within a four-kilometre radius of the Achlachan Wind Farm (Fund Priority Area). Grants are available to support the charitable activities of constituted not-for-profit groups working to benefit the communities therein.

Trusthouse Charitable Foundation - Small Grant (UK)

The Trusthouse Charitable Foundation is a grant making foundation that give grants to small and medium sized local organisations in the UK with a demonstrable track record of success working to address local issues in communities of extreme urban deprivation and deprived rural districts. Through the small grants programme the foundation provides funding of between £2,000 and £10,000 to charitable organisations with an income of less than £250,000 for projects that focus on Community Support. Examples of the kind of projects that can be funded include: CommunityServices; CommunityCentres; Alternative Education; Training, mentoring, employment and volunteering opportunities; Youth; Counselling; Family Support Services; Substance Misuse.

Robertson Trust - Community Vehicle Grants (Scotland)

The Robertson Trust is an independent Scottish grant-making Trust which exists to improve the lives of people and communities experiencing poverty and trauma. The Trust provide funding for organisations and initiatives that address: Financial wellbeing - tackling the financial and material effects of poverty on people and communities; Emotional wellbeing and relationships - ensuring people have emotional wellbeing, and confidence and strength in their relationships with others; Educational and work pathways - equipping people for the future by supporting learning and skills. Through the Community Vehicle Grants programme the trust provides grants of £2,500 to £10,000 towards the purchase of a new or used vehicle, or the upgrade of an existing one.

Energy Saving Trust – eBike Grant (Scotland)

The eBike Grant Fund is a capital fund. A total of £1.14million has been made available, split into two streams, the ‘Community Fund’ and the ‘Public Sector Fund’. Funding from the Community Fund is available to community groups and third sector organisations looking for up to £75,000 towards projects that will provide opportunities to trial ebikes. Public sector organisations and local authorities can apply via the Public Sector Fund, for the purposes of providing fleets of pool bikes, bikeshare/hire schemes, and promoting large scale uptake of ebikes as an alternative to car and van travel. Up to £200,000 is available per application, higher bids will be considered on a case by case basis. It is the aim of the fund to support the uptake of ebikes for functional journeys, therefore this should be the focus for both funds.

Inland and Inshore Rescue Boat Grant Fund (UK)

The fund was launched in November 2014 to provide £5million of funding over 5 years to support the work of charities that operate lifeboats and other rescue boats in UK inshore and inland waters. £1 million has been allocated to the fund for 2018/19 and grants are available to meet the costs of equipment and other items that support rescue operations (including flood rescue). Equipment supported by the fund last year included rescue boats and other craft, launch equipment and launch vehicles, personal protective equipment and other crew equipment. The Fund will not contribute more than 90% of the (ex-VAT) costs of these funded items. Applicants will need to demonstrate the ability to meet the remaining 10% costs.

Community Foundations (UK)

Community Foundations support community and voluntary sector activity through grants to local groups and organisations. There are 48 Community Foundations of different sizes within the UK. Although all Community Foundations operate according to common criteria, they vary in terms of size and nature of grants available. Some Community Foundations will fund both organisations and individuals whilst other foundations will only fund organisations. Each community foundation covers a specific geographic area and will not normally be able to support work outside its area.

The National Lottery Community Fund - Awards for All (Scotland)

Voluntary and community groups, schools, community and town councils and health bodies can apply for grants of between £300 and £20,000 for projects which help improve local communities and the lives of people most in need. Projects must meet at least one of their three aims: bring people together and build strong relationships in and across communities; improve the places and spaces that matter to communities; help more people to reach their potential, by supporting them at the earliest possible stage. Funding is available for activities including: putting on events, activities or performances; buying equipment; running training courses; starting a new group; educational toys and games; volunteer's expenses or professional fees; transport costs and refurbishment.
