Versus Arthritis want to address and prevent the likely reduction of marginalised communities driving sport and physical activity forward, by fostering and protecting community bodies, coaches and volunteers. Grants are available to people with long-term health conditions to stay active in their local communities. Versus Arthritis particularly welcome applications from organisations who support people with long-term health conditions, people from lower socio-economic groups, culturally diverse communities and disabled people.

The Constance Travis Charitable Trust offers grants to local, national and international charities covering activities in medical care and research, environment protection, international aid, animal welfare, community projects, social mobility enhancement, educational projects and outreach in the arts.

Bloodwise is a UK based charity dedicated to funding research into all blood cancers including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma, as well as to offering information and support to blood cancer patients.  Funding is available for laboratory-based research projects and clinical trials. Project grants are awarded for up to £280,000 and up to three years for clearly defined research projects addressing key questions in the field of blood cancer. The remit of the project grant scheme includes research projects that maximise the value and outcome of a clinical trial and specifically includes applications that would previously have been considered through the Trial-Associated Research Project scheme.

The Charities Aid Foundation is a charity, bank and champion for better giving, and for over 90 years they have been helping donors, companies and charities make a bigger impact. Through the Initiatives in Lung Cancer Care Programme the foundation seeks to deliver initiatives that will improve the quality of care and close gaps in the patient experience of lung cancer care around the world. It is looking to fund innovative, promising, and proven projects around the world that can be supported and scaled to transform patient identification, quality of care, and patient outcomes.

The Dulverton Trust is an independent grant-making charity that supports UK charities and Charitable incorporated Organisations tackling a range of social issues, protecting the natural world, and preserving heritage crafts.  Through its General Welfare funding strand, the Trust aims to support wide range of activities that benefit disadvantaged people and communities

The Hodge Foundation provides grants of up to £100,000 to UK registered or exempt charities such as special needs schools and universities for projects that address the objectives of the Foundation.  This includes supporting charities working with people who may be vulnerable or disadvantaged and who need assistance to improve their lives;  education and learning, both within formal school settings and practical approaches to learning which support young people to fulfill their potential and thrive including those with special needs; medical related charities specialising in the treatment and support for specific illnesses and research; and providing funds towards projects such as facilities in church buildings and inclusive activities for the wider community.

The Multiple Sclerosis Society gives grants to people with MS to help to pay for items they need and for which there is no health or social services funding available. Grants can be used for home adaptations, wheelchairs, scooters, specialised beds and chairs, Motability advance payments, car adaptations, driving lessons, disability-related removal costs, some clinical / communication aids, computers and bankruptcy fees. Requests for other items will also be considered.

The Multiple Sclerosis Society gives grants of up to £1,000 to unpaid carers of all ages. A carer is defined as someone who, without payment, provides help and support to a partner, child, relative, friend or neighbour with MS, who could not manage fully without their help. Grants are available for a broad range of items and activities under two themes: Leisure and Personal Development. Leisure can include recreational activities such as school trips for young carers, sports or gardening equipment. Personal development may include things such as courses or associated costs to enable the carer to get back into work or life skills development such as learning to drive.

The Souter Charitable Trust is a grant making organisation that assists projects engaged in the relief of human suffering in the UK and overseas- particularly, but not exclusively, those with a Christian emphasis and ethos.Over the last five years the trust has awarded over 3,200 grants worth more than £32million. The trust has supported a range of projects including projects to combat malaria and projects to supply daily meals to school children in Africa. Grants are made only to registered charities; all projects for capital building and renovation work are specifically excluded. The trustees meet once a month to consider applications.

The Pink Ribbon Foundation funds breast cancer charities that support people suffering from breast cancer, in the form of financial assistance, care, advice, emotional and practical support. It also seeks to promote awareness and understanding of breast cancer, primarily by funding research into causes, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. Priority will be given to; programmes that work to promote a positive view of breast cancer; applications from Black, Minority and Ethnic (BME) communities; groups who support and encourage volunteers; and organisations dealing with exceptional circumstances.

The Sir Jules Thorn Charitable Trust is a grant giving trust that supports UK registered charities working in the following areas: Medical Science/Medicine, Serious Illness, Disability, Disadvantage and Overcoming Adversity. The trust runs a number of grant programmes each year: The Medically Related Donations Programme provides funding to expand important research facilities in medical schools or to enhance patient care in hospitals and hospices, funding is also available for charities devoted to the care and comfort of patients with distressing clinical conditions; The Ann Rylands Small Donations Programme supports charities engaged in work of a humanitarian nature, these grants can be used for either core funding or specific projects.
