Sustrans - Places for Everyone (Scotland)

Sustrans Scotland provides advice, support and funding for the creation of infrastructure that makes it easier for people to walk, wheel and cycle for everyday journeys. Through the Places for Everyone programme Sustrans provides funding and expertise to help deliver walking, wheeling and cycling improvements across the country.

Transport Scotland - eBike Loan (Scotland)

The eBike Loan is funded by Transport Scotland and can help individuals purchase a new electric bike, including cargo and adapted cycles.

Energy Saving Trust – eBike Grant (Scotland)

The eBike Grant Fund is a capital fund. A total of £1.14million has been made available, split into two streams, the ‘Community Fund’ and the ‘Public Sector Fund’. Funding from the Community Fund is available to community groups and third sector organisations looking for up to £75,000 towards projects that will provide opportunities to trial ebikes. Public sector organisations and local authorities can apply via the Public Sector Fund, for the purposes of providing fleets of pool bikes, bikeshare/hire schemes, and promoting large scale uptake of ebikes as an alternative to car and van travel. Up to £200,000 is available per application, higher bids will be considered on a case by case basis. It is the aim of the fund to support the uptake of ebikes for functional journeys, therefore this should be the focus for both funds.

Energy Saving Trust – eBike Business Loan (Scotland)

The Energy Saving Trusts eBike Business Loan programme provides interest free loans of up to £30,000 to Scottish businesses to help lower their transport and travel costs. The loans are funded by Transport Scotland and have a repayment term of up to 4 years. The loans aim to support organisations that want to reduce their carbon impact and use more sustainable ways to travel. The loan will cover up to £3,000 per bike for new e-bikes, up to £6,000 for new e-cargo bikes and up to £6,000 for new electric adaptive bikes. If a non e-bike is more suitable to meet an individual's needs, applications can be considered by Energy Saving Trust on a case by case basis.
