Local Funding
There are a variety of ways in which you can receive funding for sports clubs, sports activities and training.
The Aylesbury Vale Sport and Physical Activity Network (AVSPAN) is made up of a range of organisations including leisure centres, sports clubs, the District Council and Bucks Sport. The group administers a small bursaries scheme to support local talented athletes and sports coaches in Aylesbury Vale.
Talented Athletes Bursaries
• Funding support for help with training costs for local athletes.
• Apply for up to £300 per individual.
You are eligible to apply if you:
• Live in the Aylesbury Vale District area
• Take part in a sport recognised by Sport England
• Compete at a regional level against other regions
• Fulfil the detailed eligibility criteria outlined in the Bursary guidance notes
Community Sports Coaches Bursaries
• Funding support to help you attend a recognised sports coaching qualification course (level 1, 2 or 3).
• Apply for up to 75% of the course costs, up to the following maximum levels: £200 for a Level 1 course, up to £300 for a Level 2 course or up to £500 for a Level 3 course.
You are eligible to apply if you:
• Coach at a club or activity within the Aylesbury Vale District for the benefit of the local community
• Meet the minimum age requirements for coaching (16+ for Level 1, 18+ for a level 2 or level 3 course)
• Fulfil the detailed eligibility criteria outlined in the Bursary guidance notes
You can apply at any time throughout the year. Applications will be reviewed on a regular basis at the end of each month.
