Local Funding
C R E A T E peer-to-peer microfunding for cultural organisations
Oxford City Council
C R E A T E invites Oxford’s artists, performers, filmmakers and music, heritage, digital and community organisations to pitch for and support cultural funding and collaboration. Events take place on the last Thursday of every other month.
HOW IT WORKS
Artists/groups submit proposals and up to 6 are selected to pitch at each event (see 'pitch your project' for more info)
Supporters pay a suggested donation of £10 (min £5), which goes into the prize pot to be doubled by Oxford City Council.
In return for your donation you get a hearty glass of wine / juice and 1 vote to decide which artist/group wins the funding.
To be eligible projects must:
- Benefit artists and / or audiences in Oxford
- Contribute to at least 1 objective in the city's Culture Strategy (so Oxford City Council will double your donations)
- Credit C R E A T E donors and sponsors in publicity / marketing materials. Logos will be supplied.
- Winning projects / artists come back to a future C R E A T E and tell us how it went.
- When selecting pitches, priority will be given to projects not related to the host venue - but projects are welcome to apply again for another CREATE at a different venue.
