Grants of £250 to £7,000 are available across the County to locally managed voluntary, community or self-help groups based in small neighbourhoods, or those bringing children and young people together from a wider area who are facing poverty, isolation or who are disadvantaged. New groups who don't yet have their own bank account can also apply by getting a charitable or not for profit group to agree to accept funding on their behalf. Applications for funding must fit into one of these four themes:
Aspirations and experiences: for those who have missed out on experiences others take for granted, or for activities helping children and young people achieve goals which were previously out of reach.
Economic disadvantage: to help families improve their living conditions and cope with difficulties arising from living on a low income.
Isolation and access: for support and opportunities for those isolated or alone or those who have difficulty in accessing services available to others, such those living in a rural area.
Children's voices: groups offering children and young people the chance to give their opinions and advice on matters that concern them.
