Alliance & Leicester Fund
Community Foundation for Merseyside
Grants of up to £5000 are available to registered charities in Merseyside, for projects that are based around the themes of education, health or the environment.
To be eligible for a grant your project must:
• Be related to education, health or the environment
• Be for a specific item, which has tangible benefits
• Build capacity of the community to help itself
• Be based on real need
• Show value for money
• Show local community involvement in the decision making of the organisation
• Employ or be working towards equal opportunities principles and practices
In providing grants priority is given to:
• Small charities.
• Charities financially independent of a national organisation
• Charities whose members come solely from Merseyside, Manchester or Wigan
• Charities that have not received major grants recently
• Charities that generally do not have access to other sources of funding
The types of activities that can be funded include:
• IT equipment for community centre
• Training for volunteers
• Aids and equipment to help children with disabilities
• Purchase of a new computer to help identify dyslexia and learning difficulties
• Induction course at a sports centre for visually impaired people
• Loop system for community building
