Local Funding
The Mersey Docks and Harbour Company 500 Fund
Community Foundation for Merseyside
Small community groups are able to apply for grants of up to £250 through the Mersey Docks and Harbour Company 500 Fund.
The Company already supports the local community through donations, the majority of which are made by The Mersey Docks and Harbour Company Charitable Fund. However, to enable smaller charities in the local area to access financial support, the Company has asked the Community Foundation for Merseyside to establish this fund.
Priority is given to:
• Groups who have unrestricted funds of less than £5000
• Innovative projects
• Groups who have a connection with the river/sea
• Groups financially independent of a national organisation
• Groups that have not received major grants recently or do not have access to other sources of funding
Grants can be used for virtually anything provided it is related to the group's charitable aims and objectives. For example funding can be used for new equipment, training costs, hiring of venues, printing of publicity material and events.
