Biodiversity Grants
Winchester City Council
Grants of up to £500 are available from this new funding stream which is aimed at projects that improve biodiversity in the Winchester District.
Examples of the types of projects that are likely to be funded through this scheme are:
- Hedge or tree planting scheme to provide habitat for birds or mammals
- Pond restoration works including wild flower planting
- Restoration of historic garden areas such as St Giles Hill
- Thinning out of woodland areas to restore habitat to former natural state
Applications for Biodiversity grants will only be accepted from the following groups/organisations:
- Parish or Town Councils
- Not-for-profit, Community Groups
These applications must be supported by endorsement from the parish / town council (or Winchester Town Forum in the case of communities within the town area).
