Grant News
The Community Relations Council (CRC) has opened applications for its 2025/26 Community Relations/Cultural Diversity (CR/CD) Small Grants Scheme, aimed at supporting community and voluntary groups across Northern Ireland in fostering good relations and cultural diversity. The scheme is designed to assist organisations in developing their capacity to engage in community relations work and to enhance the community relations potential of projects they undertake
Eligible organisations can apply for grants up to £10,000, with the average award typically ranging between £2,000 and £5,000. The funding is intended for project costs only, and all projects must be completed within the financial year, with a completion deadline of 31 March 2026. Applications are open until 4:00 PM on Friday, 16 January 2026.
The CR/CD Scheme supports a wide range of activities, including facilitated workshops, discussions, cultural events showcasing diversity through music, art, dance, food, and storytelling. Projects must have a clear good relations purpose from the outset, with deliberate and planned activities directly addressing sectarianism and/or racism. Applicants are required to demonstrate the good relations need they intend to address and how they have identified this need.
Organisations interested in applying are encouraged to contact a member of the CRC team to discuss their proposals prior to submission. This allows for advice on planning and sourcing additional funding if required. Applications can be submitted through the CRC's online application portal.
The need for the CR/CD Small Grants Scheme arises from the ongoing challenges of sectarianism and racism in Northern Ireland. By supporting intentional and need-driven projects, the scheme aims to promote mutual respect, understanding, and the celebration of cultural diversity within communities.
