Grant News
Community organisations, small businesses, local authorities and tourist attractions across Scotland are being urged to apply for a share of a new £10 million fund to increase the number of fully accessible Changing Places toilets.
The Changing Places Toilets Scotland Fund, launched by the Scottish Government and administered by Inspiring Scotland with support from disability charity PAMIS, aims to deliver up to 150 new facilities for people with complex disabilities who cannot use standard accessible toilets. The fund forms part of a nationwide drive to improve inclusion, with over 270 Changing Places facilities already in Scotland—a 30% increase since 2019.
Funding is available for both project delivery and preparatory work. Applicants can seek support for construction, installation and specialist equipment such as adult-sized height-adjustable changing benches, ceiling hoists and centrally placed peninsular toilets. Facilities must meet the national 12 m² size standard to ensure space for wheelchair users and carers.
In addition, up to £10,000 is available for development costs, including planning, design work and feasibility studies. Priority will be given to proposals serving areas where Changing Places provision is currently limited.
Applications close at 12 pm on 20 October 2025. Eligible groups are encouraged to read the detailed guidance and submit an Expression of Interest before completing a full application.
