The Royal Society of Biology has opened its Regional Events Grants Scheme, offering funding of up to £1,000 to support RSB members in delivering inspiring events and activities that celebrate the biosciences.
The scheme is designed to engage diverse audiences and support initiatives that spark interest, highlight biological research, and showcase local biological projects, including biodiversity initiatives and citizen science.
A range of activities could be supported such as workshops, talks, lectures, and community engagement events.
Funding could be used for:
- Promotion, publicity and marketing materials (banners, posters, printing costs)
- Room, equipment, catering and facility hire
- Equipment and resources to increase capacity to deliver an event or activities (projectors, lab equipment, microscopes, reference books and guides etc)
- Speaker or presenter costs
- Travel costs, including travel and subsistence of planning meetings
- Event insurance / public liability insurance
The grants aim to encourage collaboration within the bioscience community, promote RSB membership, and make the biosciences more accessible.
Applicants must be members of the Royal Society of Biology, including affiliate, associate, member, or Fellow grades, or have applied and paid for membership pending election.
Event(s) must take place during the 1st May 2026 to the 30th April 2027. RSB will not provide retrospectively funding for events.
The closing date for applications is the 15th March 2026.
