Grant News
The GM Nature Network Grants programme has opened for applications. The programme offers small grants to charities and other third-sector organisations that create or restore wildlife-rich land in Greater Manchester. The scheme supports delivery of the Greater Manchester Local Nature Recovery Strategy and aims to strengthen habitat networks across the city-region.
Two grant strands are available:
- Habitat restoration and creation grants of up to £30,000.
- Enabling grants of up to £5,000 for preparatory work that helps land progress towards becoming wildlife-rich, such as feasibility studies, surveys and management plans.
Up to £200,000 is available, subject to the number and quality of applications received.
Eligible applicants include registered charities, CIOs, CICs, social enterprises and community benefit societies operating in Greater Manchester.
Projects must be located within GM Nature Network opportunity areas, focus on land not already classed as wildlife-rich, and have landowner permission in place.
Funding can cover materials, equipment, contractors, limited project management and some volunteer costs, but not land or building purchase, routine maintenance or work already started.
Projects must be completed by March 2027, with habitats maintained for at least 3 years.
To apply, please send an email outlining the project lead, name of project and below application form to naturerecovery@greatermanchester-ca.gov.uk by June 30th 2026.
