The Edward Holt Trust has announced a major long-term funding opportunity for charities in Greater Manchester, with grants likely to be around £200,000 per year for up to five years.
The Trust is a grant-making charity supporting projects that improve lives and strengthen communities. This programme will fund ambitious new pilot projects that aim to lift people out of poverty and/or prevent homelessness. Projects should be preventative, locally rooted and designed to tackle root causes, reduce vulnerability and build long-term resilience.
Examples of supported activity could include:
- employment, training and skills programmes;
- homelessness prevention and housing-related support;
- projects tackling financial insecurity or barriers to work;
- initiatives designed with people who have lived experience.
Key points
• Applicants should normally be Greater Manchester charities with income below £1.5 million.
• Projects should be delivered within 15 miles of Manchester city centre.
• Funding may be tapered in later years to support sustainability.
The application deadline is 5pm on 16 October 2026.
