The Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport has confirmed its UK Global Screen Fund will be extended for three years with an additional £21 million in funding, to support the industry to develop new talent, create jobs and target new audiences around the world.
The funding which is administered by the British Film Institute will be allocated in three strands:
- International Distribution Funding will support the sale and distribution of UK feature films in target countries and at major film festivals;
- International Business Development will support film, TV and video games companies to develop business strategies to boost their international growth;
- International Co-Production Investment Funding will support UK producers to become partners in international co-productions. This strand is open to applications and will close on the 27th July 2022.
The remaining strands will open in the future.
