Scottish Inward Investment Catalyst Fund Launched (Scotland)

Companies without an existing base in Scotland are eligible to apply for awards of up to £10,000. This funding is designed to support collaboration with Scottish academic institutions—including universities, colleges, research institutes, and innovation centres—to help businesses develop a presence in Scotland.

The Scottish Inward Investment Catalyst Fund can be used for activities such as feasibility studies, R&D centre roadmaps, and early-stage proof of concept work. It targets key sectors where Scotland has strong capabilities and global investment potential, including:

  • Energy Transition

  • Decarbonisation of Transport

  • Software and IT

  • Digital Financial Services

  • Digital Business Services

  • Space

  • Healthtech

  • Transformation of Chemical Industries

  • Food & Drink Innovation

Businesses of any size may apply. Start-ups and early-stage companies are required to complete a pre-submission form to confirm eligibility. All projects must demonstrate potential economic benefits for Scotland and align with at least one of the nine key opportunity areas above.

Applications will be assessed by an independent expert panel. The deadline for proposals is 5pm on Friday, 11th July 2025.
