The Sylvia Waddilove Foundation has announced that its grants programme is now open for applications.
The Foundation offers grants between £500 and £5,000 to support capital projects — including equipment purchases, building renovations, and long-term infrastructure improvements. A smaller grant of £1,000 is also available specifically to cover the running costs of new theatre productions.
Funding is focused on six key areas:
- Education in organic farming, animal husbandry, and veterinary science
- Visual and performing arts
- Medical research (lab-based)
- Support for people with disabilities or severe illness
- Preservation of buildings of historical significance
- Accommodation for people in need
To be eligible, applicants must be UK-registered charities, charitable community interest companies limited by guarantee, or registered societies. Organisations must have been operating for at least two years, and both the applicant and the beneficiaries must be based in the UK. Entities that have received funding from the Foundation in the past two years are not eligible to reapply.
The Foundation applies income thresholds based on project type. For example, arts and disability-related projects must have an income under £500,000; accommodation and preservation projects can have up to £3 million. There is no income cap for medical research applicants, provided the work is laboratory-based and not statistical in nature.

The closing date for applications is the 22nd August 2025. The application windows may close early if demand is high.
