Robertson Trust Opens Nurturing Relationships Grants Theme (Scotland)

The Robertson Trust has opened applications for its Large and Small Grants under the Nurturing Relationships theme. The theme, which evolved from the Trust’s earlier Emotional Wellbeing and Relationships theme, reflects a sharper preventative focus on the role of relationships in tackling poverty and trauma across Scotland.

Through this programme, the Trust is looking to support:

  • Preventative support for families experiencing poverty (including children and their caregivers) to help build and maintain strong relationships and reduce the risk of intergenerational trauma.
  • Whole-family support for families in or on the edges of care, addressing the impacts of persistent poverty and trauma—including services for young people with experience of care who are not in a family setting.
  • Crisis support at the point of family breakdown, including support for women and children experiencing domestic abuse.

The fund is open to not-for-profit organisations, including registered charities, constituted community groups, social enterprises, and community interest companies.

Earlier this year, the Trust tested the theme through a limited Open Call, awarding £3.23 million to 39 organisations. Applications will now be accepted on a rolling basis, with further details available from 30 September 2025.

The programme is part of the Robertson Trust’s 2020–2030 strategy to reduce poverty and trauma, ensuring its resources target areas of greatest need.
